Springfield-PS-main-slider41The school’s Music specialist teacher conducts a comprehensive music program for all students from Year 1 to Year 6. Children in Years 3 and 4 have the opportunity to learn to play a range of recorders including descant, treble and tenor. Students in Years 5 and 6 have the opportunity to join the School Choir.

The school is renowned for the excellence of its Choir performances over many years and has            participated successfully in Music Festivals, Concerts and Eisteddfods.

Musical Instrument Classes

Music aptitude tests conducted in term 4 for Year 5 students assist to identify students who may participate in brass, flute and clarinet tuition in Year 6. In Year 6, the instruments are available for a hire charge of approx. $110. It is vital that parents and students accept ownership of an appropriate instrument as a contractual obligation before embarking on a course of instrumental study.

Please note: The Springfield P&C Association has established a “Perpetual Music Fund” to purchaseinstruments for use by Year 6 students. Details and application forms may be requested from the Music specialist or P&C Association.
