In case of an emergency, always dial 000 for immediate support.
GP Appointment
If you are concerned about your child’s mental health, make an appointment to see your GP. The GP can do a mental health assessment and, if necessary, create a mental health treatment plan for your child.
- A mental health treatment plan lets you claim up to 10 sessions with a mental health professional each year. Having the plan enables you to access free or subsidised sessions (depending on the health professional).
- Your GP may be able to recommend service providers in your local area, or providers with expertise in your child’s area of need.
